Hello, I'm Matthew.  I only write when I have something to say, even when I don't know exactly what that something is when I begin.  I much prefer the story and I to act in symbiosis rather than lording over it like a tyrant.  Every story I pen is a tale that belongs in the world, and has fought tooth and nail for its right to see the light of day.  I feel that it's only fair to give these stories what they deserve.I can't explain why I'm often drawn to the incorporation of the fantastic in my work, but I can tell you that fantasy is not meant to be a crutch in storytelling, nor is it meant solely for the purpose of flair.  Rather, I believe the fusing of the dream and the waking world is the culmination of the totality of our sight, and the decision to ignore one or the other when telling a story robs both the author and the audience.  All creatives understand this, even if their work may seem more "realistic" on the outside.  My dreams just happen to be a bit more strange.I was born in Brooklyn, New York and have been writing ever since I was five years old.  Perhaps that's misleading to say, since I stopped for a long time in my teens.  However, in my twenties, the dreams of ink and paper found me again.  And ever since they have, I've been in hot pursuit.
